Toray Plastics introduces third generation polypropylene packaging films

Toray Plastics (America) has introduced the third generation of Torayfan transparent and high-barrier polypropylene packaging films. The new Torayfan CB3 high-barrier BOPP films, which are free from PVdC, provides enhanced barrier-durability protection for nuts, seeds, snacks, cookies, dried fruit and confectionary items. Toray’s CB3 films can be used for bags, pouches, stand-up pouches, and flow wrap. Produced by using the firm’s advanced formulation, the new polypropylene packaging films are available in sealable and non-sealable versions. Toray’s new high-barrier BOPP films offer enhanced oxygen-barrier protection along with better moisture barrier. An alternative to thicker OPP films, the thinner 70-gauge, and 80-gauge CB3 films can withstand the pressures of laminating and converting processes without any degradation to barrier performance.
