Worbla Non-Toxic Thermoplastic Sheet a Hit with Cosplayers & Model Makers
Interstate Plastics is happy to announce the addition of Worbla to its product lineup, a popular material among hobbyist groups including cosplayers (the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game), model makers, DIYers, sculptors, and other artists. The non-toxic (Prop 65 compliant) thermoplastic can be heated with a hair dryer or other hot air tool and becomes formable at 175F to 195F. The material retains the shape it was formed to as it cools, and can even be reused if not painted.
Worbla is easy to form, cut with scissors, and paint, and scraps and cutoffs can be combined under heat and used to minimize waste. Worbla has no shelf life and holds its shape even when complex curves and shapes are part of the design. It has also seen use in minor hope repair applications.
Interstate Plastics offers Worbla in both black and beige colors with a standard thickness of 0.039”. Precut sheets include sizes 39″ x 59″, 39″ x 29.5″, 29.5″ x 19.5″, and 19.5″ x 14.5″.
